Pastor Paul Capistrano is the Associate Pastor/Worship Pastor for River of Life Family Church. Saved at the age of 14, Pastor Paul had a passion and love for youth ministry and praise and worship. He continued to minister alongside Pastor Randy as Youth Advisor and coordinator until called into full-time ministry and supporting the church planting of ROLFC.

He was called into Praise and Worship ministry and began songwriting at the young age of 17. In 2000, Pastor Paul assembled a band named “Tru Blessing – A Worship Band.” It is a group of 7 men who love the Lord and have a passion for Praise and Worship. They discovered their calling when they were starting out as a youth worship band. It blossomed by the grace of God into an outward ministry to youth groups, evangelism outreach events and colleges. They have played and ministered at San Jose Christian College, ONUP – Outreach event, Vision Worship and numerous youth rallies and retreats.

Pastor Paul received his Bachelor of Science degree in Bible and Theology with a major in Pastor Ministry and Church Administration from San Jose Christian College/William Jessup University. He received a scholarship for Homiletics and was awarded outstanding promise as a young minister. Pastor Paul strongly believes that sound doctrine and theology should never be compromised. He enjoys teaching hermeneutics (principles of correct interpretation of scripture) and exposition of the Word of God.

Pastor Paul loves to teach and preach. He is a man with a sense of humor, sometimes called a “jokester.” He is a child at heart. He truly enjoys using his creativity in everything he does. Whether it is designing shirts/posters, creating themes or just preaching his sermons you can truly see his creativity in motion.

Pastor Paul has always had an interest in the subject of history, geography and archaeology. Whether it is books or the history channel, Pastor Paul is always willing to learn something new. His favorite books are The Jesus I Never Knew by Phillip Yancey and The Case for Faith by Lee Strobel. Pastor Paul also enjoys books on apologetics and defending the Christian faith. Outside of ministry, he enjoys recording music, playing basketball, weightlifting, taking the little ones to the park and Disneyland. He is also an avid sports fan and especially enjoys taking friends and family to baseball games. Pastor Paul and his wife, Leonie, were childhood sweethearts and served in youth ministry together during their teenage years. They were married in 2003, attended Bible College together and continue to serve at River of Life Family Church. They have two beautiful children--Caleb and Elizabeth.
