And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. Luke 2:52
Here at Splish-Splash Children’s Ministry we believethat God can speak in and through children as well as adults. As so, we are always careful to be sensitive to the giftings of our children and endeavor to nurture and encourage the move of God in and through them. Our goal is to see that children from infants to junior high ages are ministered to every Sunday. Our vision is to come along side parents and help their children know, love, and obey Jesus. We believe that children can experience Jesus even at a young age. So, we feel that it is a privilege and an opportunity to create an atmosphere that will encourage a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. From nursery to junior high, kids will have fun while learning about Jesus andfellowshippingamongst friends. In this dynamicenvironment, we utilize the Bible in every lesson, so that the children begin to understand how the Bible works, as well as how to use it as a valuable tool in dealing with everyday situations. We are bringing them up to be the future leaders of our church, community, nation, and world. That’s why we take a special interest in raising up, nurturing, and inspiring our children to be the mighty men and women of God that they were created to be. Our ministry provides a number of opportunities for our children to have fun and get involved in reaching out to their communities. Every summer, we offer a Vacation Bible School for our children, which is a great chance to minister to them and teach them more about Jesus’ love. During our VBS, we spend lots of time praising and worshiping, teaching about God, and doing lots of fun activities we wouldn’t normally get a chance to do. This is a great opportunity for our children to invite friends and grow in Jesus. Our children are also involved in going to the local nursing homes and visiting with the elderly, as they minister to them through a variety of songs and dramas. Our children also partner with our Acts2Share Outreach Ministry, where they color and draw encouraging messages on paper bags that we use to bless the homeless within our communities. In our Children’s Ministry, we have dedicated teachers who are committed to empowering our children with the Word of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit. We take time out of each gathering to have worship, prayer, Bible lessons, scripture memorization, arts and crafts, dramas and puppets, group games, Bible stories, and a host of other ways to bring kids into a closer relationship with Jesus. Our teachers are rotated weekly in order to form and maintain a trusting and personal relationship with the children, which is extremely vital in encouraging their spiritual growth. Also, we are always looking for volunteers to help out in our Children’s Ministry. And we encourage our children’s parents to get involved occasionally, whether it be just supervising an activity or teaching a lesson. When children witness their parents serving in ministry it stands as a powerful example that they can learn and grow from, and eventually put forth into action within their own lives. If you would like to volunteer or join the ministry, the qualifications are to have a heart for working with kids, a teachable spirit, the ability to work with others, and be a member of ROLFC (completed class 101). If you are interested in becoming involved or would like information on how to enroll your child please see Evelyn on Sunday or call us at (408) 270-3500. Ministry time occurs during the Sunday morning service at 10:00am. Hope to see your children there!
